Guanetia Ann Ellis

Guanetia Ann Ellis, age 88, of Akron, passed away on Tuesday June 4, 2024 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 24, 1935 in Akron to the late Charles Everett and Mary Mel Ona (Boylen) Brooks. Guanetia worked as a Waitress for Brown Derby for 23 years and she also catered for One Stop Wedding Shop for over 15 years. She loved all pets, crocheting, gardening and her family.

Guanetia is survived by daughter, Michele Egli; son Scott McDonald; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Whitmore (Charlie Frye); 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother Fred Brooks; and dog Princess.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack; son David Boling; son-in-law Bobby Egli; grandson Bill Boling; brothers Jack and Chuck; and sisters Marcene Knowles, Dorothy Beach and Betty Cliff.

Visitation will be held Wednesday June 12th 5-7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services Thursday 10-11 AM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 13th, 11 AM at the funeral home. Final resting place is Greenlawn Memorial Park .
