Gwynn Seth Hicks, 37, went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2013.
Gwynn was a well-known and talented barber in Akron and the owner/operator of Gwynn's Barber Shop. He was loved by all who met him. He attended Rivertree Church in Jackson Twp. Gwynn loved riding his Harley, football season, and spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his grandparents; Rodney and Laura Sands, Gladys and Richard Coffield, and Gwynn S. Hicks, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Ashlee; sons, Michael and Dyson; stepsons, Jordan and Owen; parents, Gwynn (Debbie) Hicks and Laura Sands; stepfather, Rick Fridley; brother, Kevin Hicks; parents-in-law, Ric and Linda Farwell; sister-in-law, Taunya (George) Tomko; brother-n-law, Ric (Lindsay) Farwell; grandmother, Bea; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; his barber shop family; and many other beloved family members and dear friends.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, 5-9 p.m., and Thursday, 12-1 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m., with Pastor Troy Whitecotton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for his sons' education.
