Hal Edward Carlisle

Hal Edward Carlisle, age 66, of Atwater, Ohio, passed away on April 3, 2025.

Hal was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who lived his life with kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. He is survived by his children: Thomas Carlisle, Lucas Carlisle, Jessica (Nick) Rogers, Rebekah (Zach) Slocum, Kayla (Cory) Serdinak, and Melinda Carlisle. He was a proud grandfather to Aaron Byrnes, Elijah Byer, Mia Serdinak, Liam Serdinak, Ella Serdinak, and Brantley Serdinak. Hal is also survived by his siblings: Jennifer (Terry) Blevins, Spring (Gary) Keasler, Mary (Dennis) Riley, Dale (Angie) Glancy, Steve (Lori) Glancy and brother in law Kim Smith. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Hilkey; his beloved wife, Leeann Carlisle; and his siblings, Teresa Carlisle, Kathy Smith, and Clifford Carlisle.

Hal spent his career in the car industry, owning and operating car lots. His work was more than a profession-it was a reflection of his heart for people. Whether helping someone with car repairs, offering a job, or simply lending a hand, Hal was always looking for ways to serve others.

A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Hal’s faith was at the center of everything he did. He lived out his beliefs through daily acts of love and service, and he especially cherished his time volunteering in the children’s ministry at his church. His life was a testament to his faith, shining Christ’s love through his actions, words, and unwavering kindness.

Hal will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the countless lives he touched. He was always ready with a helping hand, a kind word, or a bit of wisdom for those who needed encouragement. His impact will never be forgotten.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday 4 PM- 6 PM at Compassion Church and funeral services begin promptly at 6 PM. A meal and time of fellowship follow the services. Memorial donations may be made to the church Children’s Ministry.
