Hal "Chris" Lehman, 54, passed away on Friday, July 1st, after several battles of illnesses. Chris was a unique man who was determined to do what he put his mind to. His wheelchair did not hinder him from remodeling his house or putting an engine together. He always had an eagerness to learn and share his wisdom. Chris loved to talk with new people. He was ecstatic when he reached someone in China on his Ham radio. As technology progressed, he mastered the computer world, having friends across the globe. His true passion for life was for his family. His love for his wife grew everyday. He taught the true meaning of love and marriage by example. He was the biggest role model and mentor to his daughter, determined she grew up to be strong and self sufficient. He had an extreme soft spot for his grandson. A radiating joy flowed from him just speaking of his grandson. If anyone asked him what his biggest accomplishment in his life was, he would say his family and his role in who they become. He is reunited with his mom, Charlotte Gentner and brother, Billy Lehman. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Lita Lehman; his daughter and son-in-law, Shonna and Charlie Garretson; his grandson, lil Charlie Garretson; his step-dad, Donald Gentner; his brothers, Mark (Debbie) Gentner, Matthew (Heather) Gentner; as well as 10 nieces and nephews; and many friends. A private memorial will be held for immediate family, respecting his wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in care of Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305.
