HARLAN "GENE" DOW

Harlan "Gene" Dow, 78, went to sleep and woke up in Heaven on Tuesday, July 24, 2001. Gene served in the Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. San Jacinto as a 3rd class gunner's mate. He retired from Excelsior Stamp Works Co. after 46 years of service. He was a charter member of Harvestime Ministries. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Halsey and Lyda Dow, three brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Stella; daughters, Sandra Gill of Los Angeles, Patricia (Terry) Stimson of Akron, Patty (David) Dietz of Florence, MN, and Vanessa (Harry) Boring of Akron; brother, Gerald Dow of Wadsworth; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; special friend, Bob Turpin. Friends and family may call on Thursday, July 26th from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joyce Carr and Pastor Jerry Bacher officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
