Harold Christner

Harold M. Christner, 83, of Tallmadge, passed away March 30, 2006 at Akron City Hospital. He was born August 30, 1922 in Akron, Ohio to the late Charles & Mary (Kobb) Christner. Harold was a member of the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge and a 32nd Mason with Joppa Lodge 666. He was an avid golfer, bowler and gardener - especially growing gladiolas and entering them in flower shows. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, June (Williams) of Tallmadge; daughter, Constance (Robert) Anliker of Silver Lake; sons, Ken (Jean) of Tallmadge and Kurt of Hartville; grandchildren, Michael, Lisa, Kenn, Brian and Glenn; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Doris James of Tallmadge. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 - 5 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. and Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, 85 Heritage Dr. where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday with Dr. John M. Schluep and Pastor Ed W.
