Harold Vaughn King, age 81 of Suffield passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family on Friday, July 9, 2021. He was born in Spencer, WV on October 13, 1939, the son of the late Denver and Verba {Sears} King.
In addition to his parents, Vaughn was preceded in death by his brothers Basil and Benjamin King, and his sister Sharon Farley.
Vaughn's loving, gentle and generous spirit will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 years, Rachel; daughters Becky Mauk, Sandra Streets and Kelly (Jeff) Whitmyer; grandchildren Matt (Cathy) Streets, Amber (Jason) Mauk, Megan (Vince) Mauk, Lexis Mauk, Dillon Cruise and Collin Whitmyer; great-grandchildren Kendall Shaver, Bentlee Simmons and Willow Byron; sisters Shirley (Steve) Whiting and Charlotte Drake; aunt Anna Hess; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He worked at Monarch Rubber for 27 years, and then retired after 9 years with Wheeler Boyce. In his free time, Vaughn greatly enjoyed being and working outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family more than anything in this world.
A funeral ceremony will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, 44305 on Thursday, July 15 at 4:00 p.m. All are welcome to visit at the funeral home after the service until 7:00 p.m. To leave a message for Vaughn's family, please scroll below.
