Harold Mccoy

Harold S. McCoy, 88, born 3/15/1918 in Sutton, WV to the late Bessie McCoy Wolfe and Virgil McCoy. Moving to Akron at a very early age, passed peacefully away on March 31, 2006 at Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wadsworth, Ohio. Preceded in death by his totally devoted wife of 62 years, Hazel C. McCoy. Harold was a WWII Army veteran and retired from the B.F. Goodrich Tire and Rubber Co. His love for golf and music are very well known by his family and friends. He leaves behind his four loving children, Harold (Nadine) McCoy, Jr., Beverly (Richard) Mitchell, Robert (Lindy) McCoy and Vicki (Joe) Ther. Along with his loving 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, also many caring relatives and friends. With his devoted family "Always" there for him, he considered himself a very, very, very "Lucky Man." Calling hours will be Monday, 1-3 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral service at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided by Mogadore VFW Post #8487.
