Harold L. Mcginnis

Harold L. McGinnis, age 91 passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023. He was born in Glenville, WV on April 22, 1931. He was a resident of Akron since 1954. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and later was employed as a Machinist at Akromold, Inc. in Cuyahoga Falls for a total of 36 years. He was a member of Clearview United Methodist Church where he served as Church Treasurer for many years.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Betty McGinnis in 2018, his parents Ruth and Rymer McGinnis, and brother Fred McGinnis.

He is survived by his sons Fred (Theresa) and Rick McGinnis, both of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren Kelly Vanhoorik, Ted and Joe Burkey; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister Gerry (Eugene) Hunsucker of Mogadore, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305, with the funeral to follow at 12:30 p.m., conducted by Pastor Linda Bradley and Rev. Amy E. Shaw. Interment to follow the service at Hillside Memorial Park.
