Harold W. Gooden
Harold W. Gooden, 84, passed away on November 25, 2008. Harold was a Veteran of WWII, having served with the US Navy. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with over 30 years of service. Harold was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, camping, music, playing the violin and drums, and will be fondly remembered for his lively personality. Survivors include his beloved wife Catherine, of 63 years; son Edward (Debbie); daughters Linda (Jim) Wilson, Debby (Jim) Smith, and Pam (Ken) Groat; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend specials thanks to the staff at Sterling House for their exceptionally loving care. Calling hours will be Friday, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3505 Embassy Parkway Suite 100 Akron, OH 44333.
