Harry "Butch" Athens
On December 26, 2016 Butch passed away with his daughter by his side. He was born in Akron, OH on July 24, 1941. He married his soulmate and enjoyed 52 years of marriage. Together they had two children, David and Dorrie. Butch served in the US Army Reserves and was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his son, David, and his parents, Lillian and Leslie Flesher. He is survived by his daughter, Dorrie (Richy) Yeager; sister, Carol (Paul) Perry; nieces and nephew, Christy, Jenny; and Paul "Brother" Perry. He had 4 grandchildren; Alec and Alyssa Yeager, and Abbot and Alton Athens; and their mother, Janine Casey. He is also survived by his best friend for over 40 years, Georgella Naragon; and special neighbor, Betty Shuford. Family will receive friends on Thursday December 29, 2016 from 6-8pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday December 30, 2016 at 2pm both at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Park.
