Harry M. "Doc" Daugherty
Harry M. Daugherty, 84, passed away June 1 at Akron City Hospital with his family by his side. Preceded in death by Jackie (first wife of 41 years); brother, Earl; son, Larry; granddaughter, Kristina Carano. Survived by loving wife of 22 years, Joan; sons, Ken (Mari), Jason (Valaree) Jones; brother, Wilbur (Jenny) of Canton; grandchildren, Doc and Zack, Michael Carano, Angela (Mike) Headrick; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brandon, and McKayla. He was also loved and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Harry served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII. He retired from Goodyear after 27 years and was also a Tallmadge School Bus Driver for 17 years where he was known as "Uncle Harry." Harry had a warm heart and strong ambitions and will be remembered as a loving husband, a great father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing cards. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron beginning at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the service begins.
