Harry R. Howard
Harry R. Howard, 80, of Medina, passed away December 19, 2010. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 8, 1930 to the late Harry "Bucky" and Mildred "Dee" Howard. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. As a chemical engineer, Harry was a pioneer in the rotational molding industry. He retired from both Union Carbide and Teknor Color Company, where his name was on numerous patents. He was an active member of Harvest Presbyterian Church and a past member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dunellen, NJ where he served as an elder and Sunday School Superintendent. His appreciation of nature and his support of the National Park System will always be remembered by his family. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Howard and sister, Mildred "Betty" Miller. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Marcia Howard; children, David (Mara) Howard, John (Diane) Howard, Virginia (Scott) Dagnall, Heather Edinger, and Robyn Lotz; grandchildren, David (Shawna) Howard, Andrew Howard, Jason Dagnall, Holly Howard, Ryan Dagnall, Sean Howard, Matthew Dagnall, Jonathan Howard, Megan Dagnall, Kyle Howard, Dylan Edinger, and Jackson Edinger; mother-in-law, Jane Carpenter; and numerous relatives and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10-12 followed by a 12 noon funeral service at Harvest Presbyterian Church, 1095 E. Reagan Pkwy, Medina, with Pastor David Wallover officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cups Cafe, PO Box 83, Medina, OH 44258, a teen ministry that Harry supported.
