Harry Richard Surgen, 70, of Akron, passed away on January 25, 2016. He was born in Akron on August 11, 1945 to the late James and Agnes Surgen. Harry retired after 33 years with Louisiana Pacific. After retiring, he was a school bus driver for charter students with Petermann Transportation. He was an avid collector and loved Elvis and sports memorabilia. Harry will always be remembered as a sweet natured person. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara and Sandy; and brothers, Bob and John. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sue; children, DeeAnna Murdock, Kimberly Surgen (Gerald Bowers), Richard (Brenna) Surgen, Thomas (Cathy) Turner, Kimberly Sisson, and Connie Csaszar; sister, Patricia Sparks; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 12:00-1:00 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Thomas J. Bunner officiating at Lord's House of Prayer, 6105 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
