Harry A. Treat, age 97 of Tallmadge passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, September 12, 2021. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 2, 1924, the son of the late Ira and Florence {Andre} Treat.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his daughter Noreen Treat; brother-in-law Malcolm McPherson; son-in-law Timothy Sullivan.
Harry's memory will always be cherished by his wife of 69 years, Janet; children Karen Treat, Michael Treat, Monica (Tom) Labosky and Sharon Sullivan; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Harry served in the U.S. Army Air Force from February 18, 1943 until his honorable discharge on December 30, 1946. He graduated from Marietta College in 1951 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. During his time in college, he worked as a life guard on Long Beach Island in New Jersey, and was captain during three of his four years. Harry then went on to finish his education at Rutgers University. Harry was a well-respected educator in the Willingboro School District in New Jersey, retiring in 1980. He ran his own pool business, Treats Pool Service, for decades. Harry enjoyed spending many years with his children on Long Beach Island in New Jersey.
A Memorial Mass will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 16 at Our Lady of Victory Parish, 73 North Ave. Tallmadge, OH 44278, with Father Michael Matusz officiating.
