Harry Lee Whitcraft, age 85 of Akron, Ohio, died on May 18, 2022 at his home after a long illness.
He was born on October 2, 1936 in Akron, the son of the late Clifford and Anna (nee Richmond) Whitcraft.
Harry was an honorably discharged US Marine veteran.
He was vice-president of the Teamsters Local #24 for four years. Harry was an over the road truck driver for Consolidated Freight. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include his loving wife, the former Joyce Fisher, whom he married on September 2, 1977; his son, Michael (Jennifer) Evans; his grandchildren, Cameron and Chad Evans, Joyce Ann (Jeff) King and Alexandria (Antjuan) Brooks; and four great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Sammy.
His siblings also survive, Charles (Beverly) Whitcraft and Patricia Serdinak; and his wife's siblings, Patrick (Ann) Fisher and Peggy (David) Kinney; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that mourn Harry's loss.
Other than his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his brothers, Freddie Whitcraft and George Whitcraft; and one nephew, Michael Whitcraft.
Per Harry's wishes, all services and calling hours will be private and all arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
Burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
