Hazel M. Friend

Hazel M. Friend of Akron, Ohio, passed into the arms of angels after a short illness on Saturday, July 24, 2021.
Hazel was born in Wilbur, West Virginia on September 11, 1933, a daughter of the late Delbert and Susan Haught.
In 1955, she married Everett Friend from West Union, West Virginia, moved to Akron, Ohio and has resided there since. Everett preceded her in death on April 11, 1995.
A wonderful mother and homemaker all her life, she faithfully attended Akron Grace Wesleyan Methodist Church for over 60 years.
Hazel is survived by and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Sue (Virgil Taylor); son, Doug (Vicki); grandson, Michael (Sarah); granddaughter, Jennifer (Nicole); great-grandsons, Nathan, Camden and Carmine; great-granddaughters, Sophia and Lexi; sister, Wanda Keys; brother, Ray Haught; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., immediately followed by a 12 p.m. funeral service with Reverend Raymond Jones Jr. officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
