Helen Elizabeth Jones Feathers Smith
Helen Elizabeth Jones Feathers Smith, 87, went home to be with Lord on October 19, 2004 in Modesto, California. She was born on October 8, 1917 in Saberton, West Virginia, to William Samuel Jones and Miriam Gertrude (Powell) Jones. Helen attended West Virginia University at Morgantown, West Virginia. She received her Masters Degree in Library Science at State University in Albany, New York. She lived in many places across the nation and taught English and was a city and school librarian. Helen was a devote Christian and a lifetime member of Saberton Pentecostal Church. She was an avid reader, wrote poetry, had a beautiful singing voice and was a lover of nature. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Jones and a daughter, Marjorie Myers. Survived by children, Eugene (Carla) Feathers of Hudson, Ohio, Cecil Feathers of Roseville, California, Charles (Jeanie) Feathers of Turlock, California, Roberta (Don) Teets of Wadsworth, Ohio; brother, Theodore (Betty) Jones of Burleson, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to June (Feathers) (Jackson) Sanor and her daughter, Debbie Jackson of Seattle, WA. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Tallmadge, 199 South Ave. with Pastor Ken Bulgrin officiating. Calling hours will be at the church from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service begins. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park.
