Helen Fay DeLong
Helen Fay DeLong, 67, died September 12, 2006 at Essex Health Care Center. She was born July 17, 1939 in Lousia, KY to the late Fred & Josie (Cochran) Fannin. Helen retired from Acro Tool & Die with 35 years of service. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Arkle DeLong in 2002; brothers, Paul, Ray, Lee and Bugg Fannin; sister, Molly Penix. She is survived by her daughters, Denise (Alan) Verner of Akron and Kathy (Dallas) Metz of Springfield Twp.; sons, James (Melissa) DeLong of Akron and Phillip (Sherry) DeLong of Ormand Beach FL; grandchildren, Dana (Kevin) Jarvis, Casey Metz, Amis Bollinger, Alex Bollinger and Megan DeLong; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Thomas and Tanner Jarvis; sisters, Vadie Penix of Randolph, Alice Meade of Lousia KY, and Ina Cochran of Ashland KY; brother, James E. (Shirley) Fannin of Mogadore; special friend, Judy; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Dwayne Ray officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
