Helen Louise Romo (nee Pringle)
Helen Louise Romo, 92, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at her home with family in Springfield Twp. She was born November 23, 1917, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Edward and Lulu Pringle. She also was preceded in death by her stepmother, Effie Pringle, three sisters, Hazel Patterson, Mary McCurry, and Dorothy Prunty, brother, Frank Stafford, and granddaughter, Wendy Renee Romo. She is survived by her husband, Marion Paul. They would have celebrated their 71st anniversary on November 23rd. She also is survived by her five children, Sandra (Jay) Carano, Ray (Susan) Romo, Roy Romo, Shelley (Larry) K'Meyer, and Linda Menyes, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Helen graduated from Central High School in 1936. She graduated from Actual Business College and worked as a secretary at the Akron Health Department, where she met her husband, Paul. She was a longtime member of the Lakemore United Methodist Church, where she also worked as the secretary for 17 years and retired in 1983. She was a long-time member of TOPS and volunteered helping children to learn to read. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, making crafts, tending to her flowers, and shopping. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Visitation will be Saturday from 11-12 followed by a 12 p.m. funeral service at Lakemore United Methodist Church, 1536 Flickinger Rd., Rev. Jeff Gindlesberger officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
