Helen R. Martin

Helen R. Martin, 98, passed away peacefully at home September 6, 2024. She left her earthly home to go on to her eternal home in Heaven with Jesus Christ, her personal and loving Savior. 

Helen was always loving, kind and faithful to her family and many friends. Her love and prayers have helped us in our lives. She will be greatly missed until we see each other again. Helen had a long blessed well lived life. She was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Later she became a member of Grace Baptist Church. She loved and enjoyed her years there as well. She worked at Monarch Rubber and later retired after many years from The University of Akron.

Helen was a wonderful wife, a precious mother and a kind and loving grandmother.

Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Roy Martin, she will be sadly missed by her daughter, Karen (Gene) Longshore; grandaughter, Kendra Brickley; great granddaughter, Jaide Josey; grandson, Adam Longshore; many other family and friends. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Helen's personal caregivers as well as the staff of Cleveland Clinic Hospice.

Helen will be laid to rest at East Liberty Cemetery, where the family will have a graveside service at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Helen's name to Cleveland Clinic Hospice or Widow's Might Ministry at Grace Baptist Church.
