Helen Edythe Miscavage

Helen Miscavage (Clites), 95, of Akron, passed away on March 4, 2018. Helen was born in Nanticoke, PA on September 3, 1922 to the late Antoni and Aniela Miazgiewicz. She grew up in Wilkes-Barre, PA and relocated to New Jersey briefly before going into the service. Helen was a proud Army and Navy veteran, serving as a WAAC and WAV during WWII. While serving in the Navy, she met her husband, Luther Earl Clites Jr., with whom she went on to start her beloved family.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Earl Clites Jr.; sister, Stella Cunningham; and brother, Julius Miasgiewicz.

Left to cherish Helen's memory are her children, Alan (Jean) Clites, Cheryl (Don) Horn, Larry (Sami) Clites, and Gary (Carol) Clites; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family are welcome to Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, on Sunday March 11, 2018 to visit from 2pm-4pm, and again on Monday March 12, 2018 from 10am-11am. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday at 11am at the funeral home.
