Helen Moynell Berger

Helen Moynell Berger, 79, of Akron, OH, passed away on December 19, 2010. She was born on November 30, 1931 in New Martinsville, WV, to William and Ida Belle Stoneking. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Berger, Sr.; her parents; 3 brothers, Kenneth, Bill, and Paul Stoneking. She is survived by daughters, Madelyn (Rick) Diefendorf, Linda (Jimmie) Boyd; sons, Ross, Jr. (Rose), Thomas (Phyllis), Raymond (Kim), David (Marge), Edgar (Ally) Berger, of Akron; sister, Jean (Jack) Williford, of Northport, FL; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who loved her! Helen loved to be a homemaker. Cooking, crochet, and sewing were her talents. She also had a passion for history and enjoyed all the facts about her past. Movies and books about history were always her favorite. She loved her family and we are proud to call her "mom", "grandma", and "sister". Calling hours will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
