Herman "Bud" Hewitt

Bud Hewitt was born March 17, 1920 in his Grandmother's home in New Straitsville, OH and passed away February 7, 2009. He lived his entire life in Akron, graduating from East High School and going on to be the owner of L&L Painting until he retired in the early 1990's. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 49 years, Florence, who passed away in 1993; Mother, Myrtle Renfand; Father, Joe Hewitt; Infant Brother, Johnny; Sister, Mary Rife. He is survived by two daughters, Cheri Van Newkirk and Linda (Jerry) Putnam; Sister, Viola Frederick; Grandchildren, Kelly (Ron) Joyner, Brian (Christa) Carr, Shannon (Chris) Miller, Sharon Striglo, Laura (Darren) McGlaughlin; Great Grandchildren, Jordan Carr, Logan Miller, Brandon Carr, Sydney McGlaughlin, Jerry McGlaughlin, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. A special thanks to the staff at Altercare of Hartville for taking such good care of him this last month. Bud spent the majority of his life being there for anyone who needed his help. No matter how big or small the task, he was there to lend a hand and never asked for anything in return. He was a great Dad and will be forever missed. Calling hours will be Monday, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m., Pastor Art Fields officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
