Herman F. Huth, Sr.
MOGADORE- On Sunday, February 3, 2008, surrounded by family, Herman F. Huth, Sr., 92, left this world and has "Gone Fishin' with Jesus"!
Herman was born August 16, 1915 in Tallmadge, Ohio. The eighth of twelve children born to Martin J. Huth and Eldora Mae (Palmer) Huth, he grew up in Ellet, graduated from Ellet High School and attended Howard Trade School.
In 1937, he married Lorrayne Muncy, and together they raised their seven children in Mogadore, Ohio. Blessed as a skilled carpenter, Herman proudly built the home in which he and Lorrayne lived for nearly 60 years.
Herman was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 41 years and retired in 1977. He was also a veteran of the US army.
An avid sportsman, Herman enjoyed boxing, bowling, fishing, but more than anything else, he loved watching his children and grandchildren's athletic events. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, great story-telling ability, his witty humor, and his sense of family pride.
Preceded in death by his parents; 10 brothers and sisters; wife, Lorrayne; daughter, Elaine; & great-granddaughter, Mikki McKee, Herman will be greatly missed by his children: Ruby (Bradley) Luke, Herman (Nancy) Huth, Jr., Donna Hollosy, Duke (Judy) Huth, Anna (Larry) Stouffer, and Tim Huth. His legacy of love will continue in his 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Sister, Betty from Arizona, also survives him.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, 4 to 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Elmer Johnson officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore. Military honors will be provided by Mogadore VFW Post 8487. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Albrecht Avenue Church of God.
