HILDA MARIE "JONNIE" MORRIS


Hilda Marie "Jonnie" Morris (nee Darrah,) 87, passed away quietly at home after a short illness on October 20, 2001. Born March 30, 1914, Mrs. Morris, or "Jonnie," as she was known, graduated from Mogadore High School in 1932 where she was an All-County Basketball Player. She later owned and operated Darrah's Restaurant, which later became The Coffee Cup, and also Morris's Restaurant in Mogadore, Ohio. Preceded in death by husband Charles Morris in 1986, she is survived by brother Gilbert Darrah of Green; sister Mildred Hawn of Northport FL; daughters Shirley (Jim) Gearhart of Senecaville, Carol Zimmerman of Akron, Judy (Ray) Pastva of Mogadore; sons Mike (Carrollene) Lutz of Mogadore, Dave (Inge) Lutz of Senecaville; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; special friend from grade school Hilda (Wackerly) Lollie. The family would like to thank Hospice of Summa for all their help and special care. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, with Rev. Gene Higgins officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 until the service begins. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
