Hollis E. Gillentine
Hollis E. Gillentine, 78, of Akron, passed away September 8, 2007. Hollis was born August 15, 1929 to the late Shirley and Hettie Gillentine. He retired from Bico Steel after 37 years of service and was a longtime member of Community Christian Chapel. In addition to his parents, Hollis was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard, Pat, and Edison Gillentine and sister, Katherine Kiel. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Francelle; daughter, Maylee (Jeff) Tawney of Akron; sons, Edward Gillentine of Akron, Ronald (Judy) Gillentine of Cornelia, GA, and Robert (Judy) Gillentine of Cleveland, GA; grandchildren, Steven Gillentine and Marie (Brad) Matthews; three stepgrandchildren; one foster granddaughter; and six step -greatgrandchildren. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior, Rev.
