Homer E. DeVaul passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013. He was a man who never met a stranger and made countless friends. Homer was born in Shadyside, Ohio to Irving and Venia DeVaul.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Patti Jo DeVaul; twin-brother, Bert.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret; children, Randy (Sandy), Joy (Chuck) Mick, and Janet (Ric) Buntain; grandchildren, Christopher DeVaul, Brandon and Alexi Mick, Justin, Jordan and Ryan Buntain; great-grandson, Grayson DeVaul; special friends, Jeff and Linda Jarvis.
Homer proudly served his country during the Korean War.
After returning from Korea, Homer entered the insurance business. He was a leading producer for several life insurance companies. In 1971, he joined what is now the DeVaul-Buntain Insurance Agency. Together with Margaret, they built a successful business. One of his best sayings to his customers was, "Your problems are now my problems". His "Tip of the Week" will be sorely missed.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, June 13, from 5-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with a Memorial Service and Military Honors following the visitation at 7 p.m. with Rev. Brian Nutt officiating. Private burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
