Homer H. West, 69, passed away at Mercy Hospital, December 14, 2011 after a short illness. Born October 8, 1942 in Nebo, WV, he has lived in Deerfield, OH for forty years. Homer worked at Summit Equipment, loved gardening and working on farm equipment.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Addie; brothers, James and Dude; sisters, Ollie, Delsie, Ruby, Emma. He is survived by brothers, Edward (Gladys) of Tallmadge, OH; sisters, Bertha Howard of TN, Ota Ann and Lyle Cordi of Uniontown; many nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Clark; friends, John, Elaine, Matt, Mike and Chuck; and most of all the love of his life, his dog, "Socks".
Calling hours will be Sunday, December 18 from 1-3 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service following at 3 PM. Burial will take place at Coens Cemetery in WV.
