Howard A. Pifer passed away on January 27, 2023 at the age of 79. He was born in Akron, Ohio to
the late Ira "Al" and Grace Pifer on July 13, 1943. Howard proudly served his country in the United
States Army and belonged to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alliance, Ohio. He had many
accomplishments but his greatest was the love he had for his family. To say Howard will be greatly
missed is certainly an understatement. Howard was the rock for his family. He was always there to
rescue them when cars broke down or the grandkids needed watched. He will always be
remembered for the time he spent with his family in nature, riding ATVs, shooting BB guns,
swimming, having picnics and bonfires covered in grease from working on cars. Invaluable traditions
and lessons that will proudly be passed on.
In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Cheryl
Pifer. Their love was one for the history books.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Andy (Chelsea) Pifer and Adam Pifer; sister, Sherri
Scott-Schweninger (David); grandchildren, Benji, Veda, and Luna-Marie; and many other nieces,
nephews and friends.
Per Howard's wishes, cremation will take place and there are no formal services scheduled at this time.
