Howard E. Slaven
March 14, 1935 — June 14, 2023
Howard E. Slaven, 88, of Stow, passed away on June 14, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Born in Cass, West Virginia, he moved to the Akron area and retired from Ford Motor Company.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joanne; his mother and father, John and Eleanor; his brothers, Earl, William, and John; sisters, Naomi Arrington, Norma Meeks, Helen Davis, and Patricia Rexrode.
He is survived by sons, Scott (Sharon), Howard (Renee); grandchildren, Kayli Hope, Cortney Renee (Kenneth), and Tyler John Howard (Sami); his great-granddaughter, Charleigh; sisters, Barbara (Gene) Crist, and Carol (Glenn) Lycans, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron on Thursday June 22, 2023 from 11am until the time of service at 12:30pm. Interment to follow at Silver Springs Cemetery, 5080 Stow Rd, Stow, OH 44224.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Howard's memory to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive, Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685.
