Howard Truman Adams, 70, entered into heavenly rest on Sunday afternoon following a four-year battle with cancer. He died at his home in Hartville.
He was born on July 13, 1941, in Colton, OH. Howard was a member of Community Christian Chapel. He retired after 29 years of service as a welder at East Manufacturing Co. He was a retired member of Teamsters Local 24 and Local 235 of Laborers' International Union of North America.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Adams, of Oklahoma; his mother, Mildred (Gohien) Stewart, of Jackson, OH; brother, Wayne Adams; and sister, Donna Tugman, both of Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce M. (Rayl) Adams; daughters, Victoria (Ron) Hoover, of Uniontown; Lori Jo (John) Stroud, of Montpelier, IN, Alicia (Steven) Copelin, of Barberton; son, Howard P. (Melissa) Adams, of Poneto, IN; grandchildren, Chris Hoover, Karen (Greg) Jurica, Nicholas (Krista) Hammonds, Tricia (Keith) Wolford, Wesley Stroud, Andrew Stroud, Ashley Adams, Gabrielle Copelin, Jacob Copelin, Phillicia Overmeyer, and Ryan Stewart; great-grandchildren, Jordan Hoover, Claire and Grady Jurica; siblings, Nadara (Malcolm) Mader, Penny (Clinton) Fouts, Al (Evelyn) Adams, all of the Akron area; John (Linda) Adams, of Columbus, OH, Cristine Vann, Sue (James) Carrico, all of Oklahoma, Barry Stewart, of Jackson, OH; and brother-in-law, Leon Tugman, of OK.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, 2-6 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131. N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. Interment will take place on Thursday, 1 p.m., at Wayne Township Cemetery in Bloomingdale, OH 43910.
