Howard W. Hayes
Howard W. Hayes, 82, of Springfield Twp., went home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2007. He was born December 15, 1924 in Kent, Ohio to the late Fredrick A. & Jennie (Dingledine) Hayes. Howard was a devoted husband and father. He had been employed at Western Reserve Academy for 23 years and in his free time was an avid golfer and bowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother and 4 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, June (Olds) Hayes; daughters, Sharron (Greg) Hodsden and Alicia (Don) Calaway; grandchildren, Lauren and Rachel; brother, Warren S. (Betty) Hayes. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. with his son-in-law, Pastor Greg Hodsden officiating. Interment will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
