Hubert C. Jarvis
Hubert C. Jarvis, 81, of Springfield Township, passed away April 20, 2008 at Akron City Hospital. He was born December 24, 1926 in, Okay, West Virginia to the late Arthur & Rebecca (Keith) Jarvis. Hubert served in the U.S. Army and later worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 42 years before retiring. He was a member of the Greensburg Temple Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Myrtle G. Jarvis; sons, Dan and Michael (Sandy) Jarvis; grandchildren, Stacy, Tricia, Alysia and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Paige, Payton, Ryan and Alexandria; sister, Evelyn Simmons. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. and Thursday from 10 - 11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Glenn Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
