Hubert D. Wright

Hubert "Hubie" D. Wright, 86, of Akron, passed away quietly in his sleep July 16, 2012. He was born in Waverly, TN on October 2, 1925 to the late Douglas and Nora Wright.
Hubert worked at Goodyear Aerospace 35 years and retired from Loral in 1984 as a supervisor in Plant D. Hubert was a member of the Top Ten Supervisors Club at Aerospace. He loved fishing, gardening, going to auctions and bragging about his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his 6 siblings and grandson, Kenny Ray.
Hubert is survived by his wife of 49 years 11 months and 17 days, Ruth Josephine "Jo"; children, Robert (Tina), John (Kathy), Judy Christine (Gene) Jackson, Ruth (Bob) Collier, David (Debi), Peggy (Mark) Bullock, Cheryl (Randy) Campbell, Judy Marie (Jim) Wilkins, Kenny (Wendy), Lora (Tom Terrell); over 30 grandchildren and over 30 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Family and friends may call on Friday, July 20, from 4-8 PM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. and Saturday, July 21, from 9-10 AM at Grace Baptist Church, 704 N. Firestone Blvd., Akron where funeral services will follow with Rev. Phil Hulgin and Rev. Mark Bullock officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church Benevolent Fund.
