Hubert H. "Huey" Easterwood
Hubert H. "Huey" Easterwood, 90, of Akron, passed away on August 20, 2008 at Akron City Hospital. Huey was born June 19, 1918 in Cullman County, Alabama. He retired from Ohio Bell Telephone. He was a loving and dedicated husband to his wife Genevieve who preceded him in death after 64 years of marriage. Huey is survived by sons James (Kathy) and Jeff (Terri); grandchildren Kristine, Eric, and Matthew; as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday, 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Summa, 525 E. Market St. P.O. Box 2090, Akron, OH 44398-9976.
