Ian Zagar, age 41, died suddenly on Sunday, April 9th at his home. He was born September 10th, 1981, in Akron, Ohio. Ian attended Ellet High School and The University of Akron. He was an avid Browns fan and loved all Cleveland sports. He enjoyed taking his family camping and being outside as much as he could. Ian was most passionate about coaching. From an early age, he took the role of coach with his younger siblings. He became the head instructor of sports, clothes, music and even driving as his brothers and sister grew. His passion truly took off when he was able to coach his sons in baseball and basketball. Nothing made him more proud than being a dad. He was so looking forward to his daughter, Mikayla, graduating this year and celebrating her success. He will always be remembered for his passion for his family and his instinct to help people in need. Ian truly would have given someone the shirt off of his back.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Hannah Baughman; mother, Cynthia; father, Steven; brothers, Caleb and Zachary; sister, Emma; cousins, Dave and Justin; and children, Mikayla, Izak and Daylen.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 14th from 5-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH. 44305). Flowers, donations and condolences may be offered at that time.
