Ida E. Cannon, 82, of Ravenna, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2021. She was born in Ravenna on April 26, 1938 to the late Henry and Maude Bowen. Ida had an adventurous spirit and traveled west after graduating high school. She lived in California, Alaska, and Nevada for most of her adult life. While in California, she met Robert Cannon and they married on October 1, 1968. She earned her pilot's license in her early twenties. In addition to flying, she enjoyed gardening, photography, and needlework. She retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of service. After the death of her beloved husband, Robert, Ida returned to Ohio to be close to family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ida was preceded in death by her siblings, Henry "Hank" Bowen Jr., Lena Hunsicker, Emma "Jane" Boyle, Fred Bowen, and Stanley Bowen.
Ida will be dearly missed by her nephew and niece, Michael and Susanne Boyle Sr.; great-nephew, Michael (Veronica) Boyle Jr.; great-niece, Kristen (Steve) Luchka and their children: Ethan, Ettalynn, Abigail, and Alexander; brother, Albert (Diane) Bowen; sister, Charlotte "Sue" Bowen; many other nieces and nephews.
Per Ida's request, cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery alongside her husband, Robert.
