Ila Kurtz, 101, passed away on July 23, 2006. Ila was born in Akron on December 17, 1904 to the late Edwin and Minerva Kurtz. She graduated from Central High School and later from Dennison University. Ila lived most of her adult life in Cincinnati, where she worked for the Children's Home. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Irene Jackson, Ethel Sowers, and Mildred McRee. She is suvived by her nephew, William Sheldon Jackson, and nieces, Dorothy Davies, Carol Douglas, and Mary Ila Lincicome. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the chapel at Hillside Memorial Park. Online condolences may be sent to www.newcomerfamily.com.
