Ileta B. Newman

Ileta B. Newman, 79, went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2005 at Heather Knoll Nursing Center. Ileta was born in Renick, West Virginia, on October 26, 1925, to the late M.C. and Ann Beard and moved to Akron as a teenager. She worked for many years at The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., retiring in 1970. She was preceded in death by husbands N.C. (Norval) Broom in 1974 and Carl R. Newman in 1983. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gene Turchan of Lakeland, FL; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Christine and Robert Mastran; great-grandson, Michael Mastran of Tallmadge; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Eddy Wayne Staats of Akron; nephew Joe (Maelene) Myers of Pittsburgh, PA; and many other family members and friends. Calling hours will be Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., with a funeral service at 1p.m. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery.
