Ima L. Shumaker
Ima L. Shumaker, 89, of Akron, passed away July 17, 2008. Ima was born October 9, 1918 in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania. She devoted her life to raising her family and caring for their home. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. She was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple for over 30 years. Ima was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; infant daughter, Donna Jean; and daughter, Peggy Goulet. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Jim) Wiley; grandchildren, Richard (Madelyn) Diefendorf, Cheryl (Mike) Cappadona, Kenneth (Denise) Diefendorf, Mark (Judy) Wiley, Tammy Goulet, and Marie Goulet; nine great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call TODAY from 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
