Imogene Lonsbury

Imogene "Imy" Lonsbury, 87, went home to be with her Lord after a short illness on November 5, 2023. She was born on March 3, 1936 the daughter of the late Harry and Geraldine Coontz. She was a woman of faith and kept in God's word reading the Bible, and coloring inspirational drawings. She retired after 26 years of dedicated service as a Pharmaceutical Technician at Summa, St. Thomas Hospital. In her younger years, She enjoyed bowling with her sisters and daughters on various leagues. Imy could be found with a tootsie pop in her hand a cup of tea nearby while working on her coloring book. She also enjoyed watching birds, especially cardinals, and painting beautiful bird houses. Her family always look forward to the holidays for her delicious fudge and her famous pies, pumpkin and cherry with her famous pie crust which was a labor of love. She never failed to brighten a room with her infectious laughter, her smile, the love in her heart, and the special love she had for her grandchildren. ( and hersheys kisses)

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings Margaret Schwartz, Cayton Coontz, Patricia Bean, and Kenneth Coontz.

Imogene is survived by her loving family, children Gary O. (Sherry) Lonsbury, Teri Lynn (Ron) Minninger, and Pamela (Tim) Gorbach; grandchildren Abby (Mel), Meghan, Tanner (Patti), and Jade; siblings twin sister Emogene "Emy" Pritchard, Deanna Ferguson, Doloris Parsons, Nancy (Gary) Briggs, and Christine (Craig) Hughes; and many nieces, nephews and friends

Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 16th, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where Memorial Services will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Stephen Neumeyer officiating.
Private inurnment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
