Ina Elizabeth Anders

Ina Elizabeth Anders, 76, of Barberton, passed away on December 8, 2020. She was born in Akron on December 24, 1943 to the late William and Maude Winkler. She married James Anders on February 25, 1961 and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage for almost 60 years. James and Ina raised their large family and also opened their home to numerous foster children for over 30 years. They were proud to receive the Foster Parents of the Year Award. When her children were young, Ina served as a room mother and in the PTA. She also taught Sunday School and played softball in her free time. She loved to travel, especially to the beach.
In addition to her parents, Ina was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Bodner. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, James "Big Jim" Anders; children, Laurie (Michael) Gordon, Jim (Lois) Anders, Christine (Jeffrey) Ball, Robin (Louis) Damsa, Christopher Anders, and Robert Anders; brother, William (Linda) Winkler; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her buddy and brother-in-law, John Anders; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Ina's family requests that guests wear masks and practice social distancing. Funeral services and burial at Moore's Chapel Cemetery will be private.
