Ira "Toby" Sullivan, age 84 of Akron passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 5, 2021. He was born in McClure, VA on November 20, 1936, a son of the late Roosevelt and Smantha {Harris} Sullivan.
In addition to his parents, Toby was preceded in death by his son Toby Troy Sullivan, and three siblings.
Toby's memory will live on in his wife of nearly 60 years, Phyllis {Barton} Sullivan; daughter Sandy (Tim) Forman; grandchildren Matthew (Kayla) Schumacher, Kyle (Amber) Schumacher and Nicholas (Lauren) Schumacher; great-grandchildren Drew, Drake, Scarlet, Jayden, Nora and Naomi; sisters Lena Barton, Thelma (Vernal) Boyd, Loretta (Farley) Combs and Katherleen (Johnny) Runyon; brothers Fred (Peggy), Charlie (Audrey), Dewey (Dean) and Dee (Linda) Sullivan; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Toby's work ethic extended to all parts of his life, from his furniture moving business he ran with Phyllis, to his hobbies at home in his garage. He could always find something to fix, and a way to fix it. Toby loved his family more than anything else, and made a friend everywhere he went. He was a member of Calvary Temple Church.
