Irene Baker, 89, of Akron, passed away May 22, 2008 with her family by her side. Irene retired from Akron General Medical Center with over 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Baker. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Raymond; daughters, Carolyn (Dennis) Dostal and Charlene (Virgle) Snyder; granddaughters, Irene (Ron) Joseph, Tina (Johnny) Setser, Diane (David) Wagner, and Billie Jo (Steven) Kendrick; and seven great-grandchildren, Jodi, Ronnie, Cody, Dylan, Brandon, Nicole, and Candace. Family and friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 12-1, Pastor Phil Hulgin officiating. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery.
