Irene Joyce Huffman, 67, of Akron, passed away on July 12, 2010. She was born March 4, 1943 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late John & Ruth (Hewitt) Lichtenberger. Irene worked in the cafeteria at Garfield High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Branch. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul S. Huffman; daughter, Tamara (Darryl) Deering; son, Paul S. Huffman II; grandchildren, Brandy, Steven and Brittany; sister, Lisa; brothers, John, Frank, Tom and Dan. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron with Rev. Fleary Spurlock officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service begins.
