Iva Lee Wilderman, age 84 of Akron, Ohio, died on Friday, May 25, 2018 peacefully at her home.
She was born in Job, West Virginia on September 2, 1933, the daughter of the late Percy and Mabel (nee Cunningham) Kerns.
Iva was a manager at Sparkle Market on South Main Street here in Akron. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting, and traveling with her family on vacation. Her greatest joy was providing for her loving family and spending time with them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life.
Survivors include her children, James E. "Jim" Wilderman of Augusta, GA and Wendy Jo (Jim) Wilderman of Akron; her grandchildren, James R. "Rusty" (Patty) Wilderman, Christina Lee "Pistol Packin Mama" Wilderman, Kristopher J. E. Wilderman, and Kendall J. Wilderman; her great-grandchildren, Taylour R. Willard and Owen J. Wilderman. Her two sisters also survive, Annamary Wesig and Helen "John D" Ellis.
Other than her parents, Iva is preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Wilderman on June 15, 2008, they were united in marriage on May 28, 1953; her daughter, Cynthia Lee Wilderman; her siblings, Robert "Bob" Kerns and Willa "Toot" Miller; and her best friend and loyal companion-her dog, Hankie.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Fred Webb will celebrate Iva's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM
Iva will be laid to rest with her husband in Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
