Ivan B. Kerr
Ivan B. Kerr, 93, went to be with his Lord on August 16, 2011 in Bedford, Texas. He grew up in Pennsylvania, and moved to Akron after serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. Ivan was an active member of Ellet Grace Brethren Church, and worked at Goodyear until his retirement to Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Bea Kerr, and their children, Ivan B. Kerr, Jr., and Cora L. Kaser; 9 brothers and sisters; and wife, Jerry Oakes Kerr. Ivan is survived by his children, Carolyn Phlieger, and Dennis Kerr; step-daughters, JoJo(Chet)Burnett, Jeanne(Rex)Tomlinson, and Berlyn Evans; sisters, Helen Jarman, and Jeannette McQuown; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a loving extended family in Texas. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23, from 10:30 am to 12 noon at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 7605 Pleasant Home Rd., Sterling, OH, 44276, where a service will follow at 12 noon with Pastor Stephen Olsen officiating. Ivan's burial is to follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
