J. Robert Busek, 84, passed away peacefully at his home on April 6, 2021, after a long illness. Bob was born in Campbell, Ohio, to Joseph and Mary (Kovachic) Busek. He resided in the Youngstown area, until several years ago when he and his wife moved to Cuyahoga Falls to be closer to family.
In July 1954, after graduating from Campbell Memorial High School, Bob was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Bob retired from General Motors in 1998, where he enjoyed traveling for his work as a Lordstown Plant Representative. He truly enjoyed his retirement, as he used it to share his Bible hope with others. Bob felt it was a privilege to visit sick ones in the hospital as part of the Patient Visitation Group. For many years, Bob also had an active share in the prison ministry, where he made many new friends as well as spiritual sons. Bob will fondly be remembered for never missing an opportunity to tell others about his "beautiful" God and best friend, Jehovah.
Bob loved black coffee, Elmton pizza, hot peppers, sunsets at the beach, Cleveland Indians baseball, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and having one of his kitties on his lap. Friends and family meant everything to Bob. He would often call or text to keep in touch.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sister (Jeanette Tisone), his daughter-in-law (Erlene Kinney), and a dear cousin (George Buzek). He will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Judith (Keltz) as well as his children: Robert Busek (wife, Tammy); April Kraynak (husband, Dale); Joe Busek (wife, Terri); Shawn Kinney; Matt Busek (wife, Lorraine); Stephanie Martin (husband, Eric); and Rebecca Miner (husband, Kevin). Bob also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, numerous spiritual sons and daughters as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
We wish to thank our friends, family, and coworkers who have already poured out support at this time. (Proverbs 17:17) The family will host a Zoom Memorial Service on Saturday, May 1 at 1 p.m. In lieu of donations or flowers, the family requests that you please share a special memory or picture with the family at jrbusekmemorial@gmail.com. The family thanks you in advance and will treasure these special memories. The Zoom memorial details are also provided at the above email address.
