Jack H. Banas

Jack H. Banas, age 75, of Akron, passed away on March 19, 2025 at Akron City Hospital. He was born in Bisbee, AZ on July 15, 1949 to the late John and Irma Banas. He graduated from Central High School in 1967. After high school, he went on to further his education at the University of Akron where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree.

Jack loved to be outdoors, he and his wife, Cheryl, enjoyed visiting many different national parks together. They especially enjoyed Summit Metro Parks and Cuyahoga Valley National Park. He was truly a beautiful and kind soul, he took great pride in caring for his wife over the years. He also made sure that his family was tended to, no matter what they needed.

Jack will be truly missed and his memory will be cherished for a lifetime.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jeanine Hunton and Jill Setree.

Jack is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl; niece and nephews, Timothy (Georgia) Hunton, Julie (Doug) Shoup and Dan (Peggy) Hunton; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
